Irish Touring Car Series (Update)

ITC Series to kick off 24 hours earlier!

Competitors in the Irish Touring Car Series will have to wait 24 hours less for this exciting new series to get underway as Round 1 at Ballymoney has been rescheduled to run on Saturday the 19th of July.  The change has been made to facilitate the rescheduling of Round 2 of the 1:8 Off Road Buggy National Championship which was due to run last Sunday but had to be called off due to stormy weather that swept across Galway over the weekend.  As a number of drivers will contest both championships moving the date by 24 hours will benefit the number of entries competing in each series.

Revised ITC Series Calendar 2008

Round 1 - July 19th (Saturday)
Ballymoney, Co. Antrim

Round 2 - September 21st (Sunday)
St. Annes, Dublin

Round 3 - October 26th (Sunday)
Fermoy, Co. Cork

RCCAOI National Ranking

As part of the ITC Series there will be a seperate ranking for competitors who are members of the Radio Controlled Car Association of Ireland (RCCAOI).  RCCAOI members will be awarded points based on their finishing order in relation to other RCCAOI members competing in each respective round - i.e the highest placed RCCAOI member will be awarded maximum points in the RCCAOI National Ranking with the second highest placed RCCAOI member getting points for second etc, etc.  The purpose of this ranking is to determine the allocation of places for the 2009 EFRA European EP Touring Championships should any Irish drivers wish to represent Ireland at this presitigious event.  Please note you do NOT have to be a member of the RCCAOI to compete in, score points or win the Irish Touring Car Series.

Lipo Batteries

Lipo batteries are permitted in the ITC Series however competitors must ensure that they are ROAR approved.  This aproval is nessecary on the grounds of safety.  Drivers should also note that the minimum weight for a car regardless of which battery type you run is 1500 grams.
