ORCA Ireland Winter Racing

 

Hello all,

Just to update you that ORCA will be running Indoor Racing this year. The classes which we will be running are 1/12th Pan Cars, 190mm Touring Cars and the Tamiya Mini M03/M05 Cup. Best 7 of 9 rounds count.

The rules for each class are as follows:

1/12th:

  • 10.5 Brushless Motor
  • 12 X NiMH Sub C cells (will make up 3 X 4 cell packs)
  • Foam Tyres
  • Odourless Tyre Additive

190mm:

  • 10.5 Brushless Motor
  • LiPo or NiMH
  • Rubber Tyres
  • Odourless Tyre Additive

Tamiya Mini Cup:

  • Body (Original Mini Only)
  • Any Tamiya M03 or M05 front wheel drive chassis is permitted
  • Cars must only be fitted with standard Tamiya ESC and silvercan motor (no black can motors)
  • Cars must run only Tamiya tyres
  • Only 7.2V NiMH battery packs permitted
  • No Tyre Additive
  • Strictly no performance enhancing options

19 Turn Brushed BRCA Brushed Motor List

1500g

All sub c cells currently on the BRCA approved list BRCA Sub-C Cell List
All Lipo's currently on BRCA Approved list BRCA Lipo List

 

Bodys
BRCA approved bodys BRCA Body List
Bodys will be checked for height and Rear wings WILL be checked

For organizational purposes, entrance is by pre-registration only, but this couldn’t be simpler. There are 2 possible methods :

1) Go to www.orcaireland.ie and use the registration section on the homepage.

This will now be replaced by:

2) Send a text message to Brendan Lawlor with the details below. (087-2512422)

In any case, please include the following information : Your full name, frequency used, the classes you’re participating in, contact information, and the number of your personal transponder (if available).

Registration for the Irish GP will close on the evening of Wednesday the 26th of August. Finally, a registration fee of €10 applies for each driver, regardless of the number of classes the driver enters.

2009 IRISH GP

2009 IRISH GRAND PRIX

 

Dear friend,

ORCA are hosting Ireland’s largest on-road nitro event yet, scheduled to take place on the weekend of the 29th and 30th of August, 2009 in St. Anne’s Park, Raheny, County Dublin.

· SATURDAY :The track will be open for all, from 10:00am to 6:00pm for free practice in all on-road classes.

· SUNDAY : Sunday will provide for 1/8th scale and 1/10th scale 200mm nitro classes. A “Ready-To-Run” class will also be run, as will a 1/10th 190mm electric touring class. The track action will begin with open practice in each class, followed by 4 rounds of qualification “heats” and finally by finals adhering to a bump-up system.

Ballymoney National


Please note the Ballymoney Round Scheduled for 12th April has been changed to 7th June this is due to the Easter weekend (something that was overlooked when it was put on the calendar). As a result of it being the weekend it is a number of people were not going to be available so in-order to increase attendance a decision was made to reschedule.
